iPhone 14 : Let’s discover all the new features of the new iPhone 14 Series

Apple's keynote on Wednesday, September 7 has just revealed the design and features of the new iPhone 14. As with its predecessors, there are 4 models available: the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Pro, the iPhone 14 Plus and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will be available from September 16, 2022. As for the 14 Plus, it will be available from October 7, 2022. The new iPhone 14, remains quite similar to the iPhone 13. However, the iPhone 14 Pro brings some interesting new features. The size of the screens remains the same as the screens of the iPhone 13, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. The technology of these screens remains identical, Super Retina XDR. Note the end of a Mini model.

What's new for the iPhone 14?

• Its price: it is proposed from 999€.
• The colors: available in 5 colors (blue, purple, midnight, starlight and (product)RED). We will not find the green of the iPhone 13 and the pink will be replaced by the purple.
• It has an autonomy of 20 hours of video playback which is slightly more than the iPhone 13.
• Improved photo quality with both the front and rear camera. The front camera is now equipped with auto focus. On the side of the rear camera, Apple inaugurates "Photonic Engine", a new image processing that will be algorithmic. There will still be the mechanism "DeepFusion" which allows a better management of scenes with high contrast.
• More stable videos as well as the Action mode that allows a speed of 24 frames per second.
• Extreme fluidity for games and augmented reality applications.
• With IOS 16, new features such as unprecedented customization of the lock screen with photo clipping, activity rings and live tracking of information from your apps.
• Crash detection with a barometer that detects pressure changes, an accelerometer that detects extreme acceleration and deceleration, and a gyroscope that monitors sudden changes in car orientation.
• The iPhone 14 in its standard and Plus version is equipped with an aluminum frame, making it lighter than the iPhone 13, with a weight of 172 g. This aluminum frame also gives a stylish design.

 What remains the same as the iPhone 13:

• Its size: a screen of 6.1 inches or 15.5 cm. A height of 14.67 cm, a width of 7.15 cm and a thickness of 7.8 mm.
• It is water and dust resistant according to the IP68 standard.
• The Magsafe technology already present on the iPhone 12 and 13, which allows a wireless recharge up to 15 W. This technology is equipped with magnets that allow the alignment of the phone for optimal charging. Thanks to these magnets, various accessories such as a card holder can be positioned on the back of the phone. The Magsafe-compatible cases ensure a better hold of the phone and allow for induction charging compatible with Magsafe.

iPhone 14 Plus features:

This is the recent version of the iPhone 13 Pro Max in terms of dimensions. As a reminder, it has a 6.7-inch screen or 17 cm. Its total dimensions are: a height of 16.08 cm, a width of 7.81 cm and a thickness of 7.8 mm. The iPhone 14 Plus is lighter, with a weight of 203 g, versus 238 g for the iPhone 13 Pro Max. It is offered from 1049 €. An autonomy of 26 hours of video playback, it is 6 hours more than the iPhone 14. Overall, the iPhone 14 Plus offers the same features and characteristics as the iPhone 14 except for the size and battery.

• A 6.1-inch screen size.
• The price starts at 1299€.
• A battery life of 23 hours of video playback.
• Available in 4 colors (intense purple, gold, silver, sidereal black).
• Dynamic Island: a new interface signed by Apple, it replaces the notch on top of the phone and houses the front camera and sensors. It also hosts animations and widget-type information (music, call ...). An interface designed to facilitate the use.
• A triple rear camera.
• Weight almost identical to its predecessor the iPhone 13 Pro (206g against 204g), it weighs however 34g more than the iPhone 14 because of the shiny stainless steel frame.
• The screen always stays on, even when locked. The screen darkens when the phone is flipped over to preserve the battery.
• Up to 1TB of storage.

What's new for the iPhone 14 Pro Max:

• This is the Max version of the iPhone Pro, with a 6.7-inch screen and a 29-hour video playback time . The proposed features remain the same.
• It is proposed from 1449€.

In summary, if you want to discover the new features such as the Dynamic Island or the always-on screen, you should opt for the iPhone Pro and Pro Max. Although the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus also have their share of new features.
